# Testera: full page summaries > Testera is an AI practice site for speaking languages and building digital skills, free to start with no card required: voice tutors that hold spoken conversations in languages from Irish to Japanese, a free Digital Skills Lab, IELTS-style speaking practice with an AI examiner, GMAT-style and GRE-style practice, and Tera, an AI study coach. The short index is at https://testera.org/llms.txt. Last updated: 29 September 2026. ## About Testera Testera (https://testera.org) is a study product that runs in the browser on phones and computers. It has three tracks: - Languages: spoken conversations with voice tutors in Irish, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Thai, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, Polish and Tamil, and IELTS-style practice for English. - Digital skills: free pathways in everyday digital skills, cloud and IT fundamentals, and cybersecurity basics, plus coding practice: Python exercises and code-reading quizzes in 17 languages. - Exam-style practice: adaptive GMAT-style and GRE-style questions, alongside IELTS-style English. Tera, an AI study coach, is available across the site. Practice adapts after every answer, and missed topics come back on a spaced-repetition schedule (SM-2). Testera is operated by Aqta Technologies Limited, registered in Ireland, at 20 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 H364, Ireland. General contact: hello@testera.org. Privacy and legal questions: legal@testera.org. Press: hello@testera.org. What Testera does not claim: - Every practice question is original AI-generated material, never copied from official exams. Testera is not affiliated with any exam board, certification body or cloud provider, including ETS, GMAC and the IELTS partners (British Council, IDP and Cambridge University Press & Assessment). - CEFR-style level estimates, IELTS-style band estimates and practice scores are guides for practice. They are not official results, assessments or certificates, and Testera does not guarantee scores or admission outcomes. - AI-generated content can contain errors. Testera is a study aid, not a substitute for a teacher, an examiner or professional advice. ## Free tier and Testera Patron Testera is free to start, with no card required. The daily allowances stated on the site: - 10 adaptive practice questions a day. - 5 IELTS-style speaking sessions a day, with no account needed. - One Language Lab conversation a day as a guest, three a day when signed in. - 3 IELTS writing submissions a month with full scoring and feedback on all four criteria. - The Digital Skills Lab is free, and progress is saved to the learner's account. Testera Patron (https://testera.org/support) is €59.99 once for 12 months of Pro: unlimited practice questions, model answers, and higher daily fair-use limits on everything else, namely 20 IELTS-style speaking sessions, 10 Language Lab conversations, 30 essay scores and 200 messages with Tera a day. It is a one-time payment with no auto-renewal, processed by Revolut, and refunded in full if requested within 14 days (hello@testera.org). After 12 months the account returns to the free tier. Patron payments buy Pro access; they are commercial purchases, not charitable donations. Anyone can also make a one-time contribution without an account. Patrons keep Testera free for learners who cannot pay. ## Language Lab https://testera.org/learn A spoken conversation of up to ten minutes with an AI voice tutor, followed by corrections (what the learner said, a better way to say it, and why), a CEFR-style level estimate, and the vocabulary the learner needed as spaced-repetition cards. Words the learner reviews come back in the next conversation, so the conversation produces the cards and the cards steer the next conversation. In beta. Languages and tutors: Irish with Niamh, who speaks Connacht Irish (https://testera.org/learn/irish), French with Céline (https://testera.org/learn/french), Spanish with Lucía (https://testera.org/learn/spanish), German with Lena (https://testera.org/learn/german), Italian with Giulia (https://testera.org/learn/italian), Portuguese with Beatriz (https://testera.org/learn/portuguese), Thai with Prae (https://testera.org/learn/thai), Mandarin with Mei (https://testera.org/learn/mandarin), Japanese with Yui (https://testera.org/learn/japanese), Hindi with Anjali (https://testera.org/learn/hindi) Polish with Ola (https://testera.org/learn/polish) and Tamil with Nila, who speaks everyday spoken Tamil and follows Indian or Sri Lankan Tamil (https://testera.org/learn/tamil). Voice by ElevenLabs; Testera is an ElevenLabs Grants recipient. The tutors' voices are synthetic, not recordings of real people. A level estimate is for practice and is never a certificate. ## IELTS-style speaking practice https://testera.org/speaking IELTS-style speaking practice with an AI examiner, push to talk, across the three parts of the speaking test: Part 1 (personal questions), Part 2 (a cue card topic, speaking for one to two minutes) and Part 3 (a wider discussion). Feedback gives practice band estimates for fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation. Five free sessions a day with no account; Patrons have up to 20 a day. Band estimates are practice guidance, not official IELTS scores. ## IELTS-style practice https://testera.org/ielts IELTS-style practice across all four skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking), for Academic or General Training, with a practice band estimate that updates as the learner goes. ## IELTS-style writing practice https://testera.org/writing IELTS-style writing with scored feedback on all four criteria: Academic Task 1 (describing a chart or diagram), General Training Task 1 (a letter) and Task 2 (an essay). ## Digital Skills Lab https://testera.org/skills Free practice in the computer skills that work and study rely on, one pathway at a time. Each pathway starts with a short check to show what the learner already knows, continues with practice that adapts to them and explains every answer, and ends with a final check, once every topic has been practised, to compare with where they started. Nothing is timed. Progress is saved to the learner's account. - Digital skills (https://testera.org/skills/digital-skills): everyday computing (apps, settings, updates, shortcuts and accessibility), files and cloud storage, online safety and privacy (passwords, two-step sign-in, scams and privacy settings), email and collaboration, spreadsheets, presentations, and data literacy basics. - Cloud and IT fundamentals (https://testera.org/skills/cloud-it): hardware and operating systems, networking (addresses, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, ports and routers), security basics, vendor-neutral cloud concepts (service models, shared responsibility, regions and cost) and troubleshooting. - Cybersecurity basics (https://testera.org/skills/cyber-security): phishing and social engineering (including AI voice and deepfake scams), passwords, passkeys and sign-in, devices, updates and backups, networks and Wi-Fi, personal data and privacy, and incidents and recovery. The pathways cover the kind of ground found in European digital skills certificates such as ICDL, and in entry-level IT and cloud fundamentals certificates. Testera is not affiliated with any certification body or cloud provider, every question is original practice material, and a practice score is not a certificate. ## Coding practice https://testera.org/code Python exercises with real test cases. The code runs in the learner's browser (Pyodide), with no setup and no server-side execution. A Quiz mode adds code-reading questions in 17 languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C, C++, C#, Go, Rust, Kotlin, Swift, SQL, Bash, R, PHP, Ruby, Arduino and MicroPython. Nothing in the quiz runs the code. In beta. ## Exam-style practice Adaptive practice questions: questions adapt to the learner's level after every answer, each mistake gets an explanation, and weak topics are scheduled for review. A practice score estimate updates as the learner goes; it is a guide, not an exam result. - GMAT-style practice (https://testera.org/gmat): Quantitative, Verbal and Data Insights, for business school applicants. - GRE-style practice (https://testera.org/gre): Verbal and Quantitative, with a scratchpad, calculator and formulas, for graduate school applicants. - IELTS-style practice (https://testera.org/ielts): all four skills, described above. Testera keeps a short list of exams on purpose. Earlier practice areas for other exams are retiring on 31 October 2026, and learners' progress in them stays in their accounts. ## Tera, the AI study coach https://testera.org/#tera Tera is Testera's AI study coach, drawn as a small blue book holding a pencil. She answers questions, explains concepts, suggests study plans, can speak her replies and can read an image the learner sends. Guests and signed-in learners get a daily allowance of messages with her, and signed-in learners can also hear her replies spoken. ## Snap a Problem https://testera.org/snap Photograph a textbook page, whiteboard or diagram, and Tera reads it and writes a practice question based on what it shows. ## Guide https://testera.org/guide How to use Testera: getting started, Tera, the study planner, speaking practice, Snap a Problem, error diagnosis, progress tracking, keyboard shortcuts and frequently asked questions. ## Media kit https://testera.org/press Boilerplate text in 50 and 120 words, a fact sheet, logo downloads for light and dark backgrounds (SVG and PNG), Tera in every mood and face, product screenshots, social images, brand colours and fonts, usage notes and the press contact (hello@testera.org). ## Privacy and terms - Privacy policy (https://testera.org/privacy): Testera collects what it needs to work (email, practice answers and progress, conversations with Tera, Language Lab transcripts, and device details). Study data is never sold or used for advertising, and cookies are essential ones only. Learners can ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at legal@testera.org. - Terms of service (https://testera.org/terms): learners must be 13 or older, and under 18 need a parent's consent.
