Standard written Irish (An Caighdeán Oifigiúil). Where the dialects say something differently, the note says so. Written for Testera; the example sentences are original. On 29 September 2026 the gender of every noun (36) was checked against the teanglann.ie grammar database from Foras na Gaeilge, and all agree. Two words have two headwords there (athair, carr); for those the gender of this meaning was confirmed on focloir.ie. Lenited and eclipsed forms are produced by the standard rules and re-checked by the backend tests. Phrases, adjectives and example sentences have not yet been checked against a dictionary or reviewed by a native speaker. Spotted something to fix? Tell us.
